What is an Engineer?

Engineers can be found everywhere around us, revolutionizing how we work to travel, to make us stay healthy, and have entertainment, and make our life full of fun Engineering,

Now offers more career options any other way! Nowadays, there are many choices of engineering degrees, There are six major fields of engineering that are now be spotted around mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, management, and geotechnical engineering, with hundreds of subcategories within each branch.

What is the role of an engineer?

He not only develops machines, constructs buildings, oversees public works projects, but also handles the demands, challenges of society at many other levels. They are interested in treatment delivery systems that work at the molecular level inside cells.

clean up oil spills quite industrial sites, other biohazards, they investigate the particle movement of pollutants through the soil at a macro level. On a cosmic scale, they construct spaceships for other-planet exploration.

At the atomic level, they establish data storage based on the spin of electrons in atoms. Engineering includes clean drinking water, food storage, environmental protection.

There are the following types of engineers.

Aerospace Eng – they make use of high-level physics and make aircraft and aerospace product design, production, and testing.

Agricultural Eng. – examines agricultural operations and considers innovative technology and methods to optimize land usage, productivity, and resource conservation.

Eng. specializing in Biochemistry – This creates new chemical compounds that can be used by a wide range of businesses and people,

specializing in biofuel manufacturing Eng. – chooses, tests, and proposes equipment and process improvements for alternative fuel production Engineer, Biomedical- investigates and develops answers to biological and medical issues.

Chemical Eng. – create theories and designs for chemical and chemistry, laboratories related to production, transformation, and transportation.

Civil Engineer – plans, oversees large construction projects essentially roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, water, sewage treatment systems.

Eng. Computer Hardware – carries research, develops, examines computer hardware, circuit boards, routers.

Computer Systems Eng. – informs clients on the proper hardware and/or software to ensure that their computer systems satisfy their necessities.

Electrical Eng. – Builds, develops, troubleshoots, tests new electrical equipment.

Engineer (Flight)- is in charge of making sure that all of the plane’s components are in good operating condition.

Mechanical Engineer – creates, develops, constructs, tests mechanical equipment, tools, engines, machines.

Engineer (Nuclear)- investigates and develops nuclear energy and radiation-related processes, instruments, and systems.

Robotics developer- develops robots, robotic systems capable of performing tasks that people are either unable, unwilling to accomplish.

Software developer- work in the field of computer software development and employs engineering concepts in the process.

Assurance of Software Quality manager – keeps track of every step of the software development process to guarantee that the final product is of high quality.

Eng. specializing in water- manages sewage and wastewater and ensures that residents have access to safe drinking water.

specializing in wind energy Eng. – through creating wind farms or their components, harnesses the power of the wind to feed a power grid or other electrical power system.

What is the environment we get to work as an engineer?
An Eng. work environment is determined by the type of eng., their job description, and the firm they work for.

Many engs. work in offices, while others oversee projects in their field, and ship engineers travel almost all the time.

Is engineering the best career path for you?

The first step in picking a job is to ensure that you are willing to devote yourself to it.

You don’t have to ruin your chance on something you don’t enjoy. High School Students who excel in solving analytical issues and solving mathematical equations may be well-suited to a career in engineering.

Establish a basis for undergraduate studies –

  • Algebra
  • Calculus and Pre-Calculus
  • Trigonometry
  • The field of computer science
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

Complete the 12th with science stream schooling
The first stage is to graduate from a recognized board with a 12th Science stream diploma (with Mathematics or related topics).

Holders of a diploma in engineering are entitled to pursue a degree in engineering (relevant branch).

Valid mark in the applicable entrance exam

It is not enough to pass the 12th grade to gain admission to a reputable engineering school, To do so, one has to sit and pass the appropriate entrance examinations.

Engineering entrance exams include JEE, State-based CETs, and Institute-based CETs.

Participate in the admission process

Eligible students are admitted on the basis of their merit scores, The admissions procedure at IITs is unique. A technical education body usually regulates state engineering institutions.

In any scenario, the appropriate authorities will conduct an admissions procedure that includes a merit-based assessment, initial seat assignment, counseling, and an interview.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in the engineering field? (pros and cons),

If you are willing to be responsible, engineering is always a fantastic area to pursue. Math and analysis should be your strong suits.

Engineering may offer you excellent social standing as financial stability if you are willing to take on the difficulties.

PROS:

  • Financial stability.
  • Affluent social standing.
  • Can offer you a diverse selection of work options.
  • You will get the possibility to work with the most advanced tools and technologies.
  • If you want to develop and reinvent things, engineering can provide you with a firm foundation that includes all of the required fundamentals.
  • This allows you to branch out into another profession later in your career.

CONS:

  • Difficult curriculum
  • You will need to put in a lot of effort during and after your education until you find a good career.
  • After that, you have to keep working hard to stay on top of the latest technologies.
  • It is impossible to quit studying. (Don’t be afraid.) Even as an engineer, I can assure you that keeping up with the latest technologies is not as tough as it appears.)
  • Should be willing to forgo sleep on occasion. Sometimes you’ll do it yourself out of curiosity, and other times your job will require it.

To be honest, these drawbacks aren’t really drawbacks at all. These are some of the investments you must make to live the life of a successful engineer.

all the very best!!
